3 Favorite Smoothie Recipes
These delicious smoothies are enough to make your mouth water and your tummy thank you. Each one has a distinct flavour and calming effect on your gut. You can add things to each of them like a good probiotic, a healthy protein powder and more herbs if you fancy. The key is to experiment and enjoy using flavours from nature. If you are not a milk person use water. If you cannot do nuts use seeds. Dates, honey and maple syrup are all optional. You can vary the fruit and veggies used. You can decorate the tops according to your creative taste! And the 2 drops of essential oil just brings our the natural flavour of the ingredients exquisitely. Here are three base smoothies you can enjoy or adapt according to your tastes and needs! The key is to ensure you get them into your belly and enjoy every mouthful of goodness!
Creamy Lime Smoothie
- 1/2 lime, peeled
- 2 drops lime essential oil
- 1 frozen banana, chopped
- 2 dates
- 1Tbsp almond or nut butter
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 cup water or milk of choice (almond, coconut, dairy)
- Ice
- (Sliced lime and banana and spinach leaf for the top!)
Blend together until smooth. Add more water or milk to desired consistency. Enjoy!
Refreshing Lemon Smoothie
- 1/2 lemon, peeled and de-seeded
- 2 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 orange, peeled and de-seeded
- 6 strawberries
- 1 frozen banana, chopped
- 1/4 zuccinni, chopped
- 1/2 cup yoghurt (dairy or coconut)
- 1 Tbsp honey (optional)
- 1 cup water or milk of choice (almond, coconut, dairy)
- Ice
- (Sliced lemon and strawberries for the top!)
Blend together until smooth. Add more water or milk to desired consistency. Enjoy!
Chocolate Spearmint Smoothie
- 1 cup water or milk of choice (almond, coconut, dairy)
- 1 frozen banana, chopped
- 1/2 avocado
- 1Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 drops spearmint essential oil
- 2 sprigs of mint
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1Tbsp almond or nut butter
- Ice
- (Cacao nibs or blueberries for the top)
Blend together until smooth. Add more water or milk to desired consistency. Enjoy!
Cleanse & Detox Smoothie
- 1 whole lemon, peeled, de-seeded and chopped
- 2 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 cup kale
- 1 apple
- 1 stalk celery
- 4 sprigs of mint
- 2Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 cup water
- Ice
Blend together until smooth. Add more water to desired consistency. Enjoy!
